Meet the Team
Kayli Montoya-Huston
NASM CPT, NCI L1, Women's Health Specialist, Gut Health Specialist, Certified Mindset Specialist
My name is Kayli Montoya-Huston and I have been an NASM certified personal trainer since 2017.
My goal is to have the most positive impact that I can on the lives of the people I work with; helping them become the healthiest, happiest version of themselves. This goes way beyond helping people look the best they ever have, that’s a given, this also covers performance, mindset, motivation and lifestyle.
I’m passionate about helping people find the right balance for them, which means that they can enjoy their lives to the fullest while looking, feeling and performing how they want to. I firmly believe that when my clients pursue and chase health; the body they want appears for them.
I specialize in weight and strength training techniques to help my clients achieve a pain free and healthier lifestyle. I also help clients navigate nutritional challenges in order to manage chronic illness and fat loss goals. My methods are effective for clients seeking long term successes.
I provide you the education and the tools to succeed long term without me, so eventually you can maintain your own progress with confidence.
I struggled with anxiety and eating disorders as a child. When I got to high school I found sports. I packed on the weight after my time as a college athlete came to an end. I lost self-confidence and wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. I started lifting weights and I fell in love with how it made me feel mentally. I instantly felt better, had more confidence and I was in better moods. It didn’t take long and I watched my body transform. After that I knew I needed to help others just like me.
I have worked with a diverse group of clients so far. Clients have come to me seeking pain relief from fibromyalgia, to gain strength and mobility after injury and amputation, to help manage diabetes and pre-diabetes, to find freedom from IBS, to help battle anxiety and depression, to strengthen problem areas that cause chronic pain and even those that just want to look better and feel better in their own skin.
I am currently accepting new clients and I would love the opportunity to help you reach your goals. I offer online coaching options and in-person training (in the Pittsburg, Kansas area). You can apply for a free coaching call here on the website or you can DM me on IG, FB, or Twitter.
If you prefer email, shoot me an email to [email protected]. You can also find videos and free content on YouTube, IG FB, and Twitter.
I look forward to working with you!

When I look at photos of myself from 10 years ago, I almost don’t recognize myself. I see a 250 pound woman that smoked a pack of cigarettes per day, drank Dr. Pepper from the time she woke up, took around 12 pills per day, was chronically sick to the point I couldn’t leave the house, was very insecure and ate a horrible diet.
When I received my diagnosis of high blood pressure and cholesterol before I turned 30, I decided I needed to do something. I had no idea what actions needed to be taken, but I started taking small obvious steps that would help with health. First, I kicked the soda habit. Next, I reduced the amount of food I ate. I ate the same unhealthy foods, but I stuck with one serving of them. I also increased my activity. I started killing cardio. I rode a stationary bike 10 miles per day. Eventually, this resulted in a weight loss of 100 pounds. Because of the weight lost, I was able to stop most of my prescription medications and I was able to actually leave the house to attend my college classes and go to work.
Even with all these changes, I still felt bad. There weren’t many days I felt well. Thanks to my diet (I’m sure) my gallbladder had stopped functioning. I had surgery to remove that and after waking up with nicotine withdrawals, I decided there was no need to pick that habit back up. I finally felt well and I was thin. The problem was, I still disliked my body. It was better than what it was but now I looked like a chronically ill person. I had no shape at all. I had just made myself a smaller version of myself.
In 2015, after some major life changes left me feeling pretty lost, I decided it was time to do something for me. I set off on a path to not only find myself, but find what I loved and what made me happy. I found myself doing a lot of things that I would normally do, but living my life is what I needed after so long of stifling myself. I started performing, I started lifting weights and I started hiking. Performing was my escape from reality that provided me a creative outlet. Lifting weights and hiking were what I really fell in love with. Hiking was almost a mindfulness practice that I’d never had that really allowed me to go inward. Lifting transformed my body and my confidence. The life changes that year had left me feeling really out of control and powerless.
Lifting made me feel empowered. I was blessed with 35 pound weight gain. Mostly muscle but there is always some fat gain with that. The size and the look of my body finally made me love my body and what it could do for me. I found confidence in myself that I had never known.
I’ve been lifting since 2015 and the positives that have come from that have been plentiful. In 2018, I met my now wife, Kayli, in a gym. She has taught me so many important life lessons about love and acceptance and I couldn’t be more grateful for her. She’s also taught me so much about nutrition and fitness. Looking back, I know that I did everything wrong in my weight loss journey. I wish I would have had a coach when I started. My journey caused me to have some disordered eating habits and a poor relationship with food. I have mostly overcome these but I am human and I have some rough days as well.
After watching Kayli transform people’s lives, mindsets and bodies, and my own experience, I knew that coaching was something I was passionate about. In 2021, I went from being the behind the scenes marketing and branding manager and support system to obtaining my NCI Level 1 nutrition certification and woman’s health specialization and joining Kayli in Kayli Montoya Fitness. I am now taking clients of my own and I am so excited to provide value to your lives and help you transform your own life, reach your goals and change your mindset!
